I don’t think West Ham have earned the right to expect to beat anyone yet.

But I do think we’ll beat Wolves, and we certainly shouldn’t fear them at home.

I think that we'll beat Wolves at Home and so we fucking should.

They may have walked the Championship last year but it was the fucking Championship. Second-tier.

I don't think that they made any remarkable signings in the summer either.

They've made a fairly decent start to the season, all things considered, but they could've easily have lost all three games.

Everton would've probably won against them with eleven men and Man City should've beat them even though they were nowhere near their best.

If we're seriously worried about playing Wolves at Home and we fail to win the match - or even lose - then that really isn't good at all.

I'd expect an established Premier League side with £100m-odd new signings; a £10m-a-year multiple-trophy-winning manager and a club who pulls 57k crowds every week to beat a recently-promoted side with an ex-goalkeeper as manager at Home.

It's as simple as that, for me.

Was that the same writing that was firmly on the wall after we lost to Leicester and Bournemouth at home, shipping 8 goals and then went on to finish 7th (and we’re actually a couple of results away from finishing in the top 4)

That writing?

I remember FLJ scoring a winning goal first game of the season against Tottenham.

''No reason we can’t beat Wolves on Saturday''

Agreed, but they will be (rightfully) be thinking they can beat us too. If you lose your first 2 home games to B'mouth and Wolverhampton Wanderers then I'm afraid the writing will be firmly on the wall.

Re: ⚽ Arsenal v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 3-1
Can anyone remember a season where we didn’t lose 3 games in a row at any point?

Also it isn’t just this season, we’re terrible at starting EVERY season. In the first 3 games of the last 5 seasons how many games have we won? 3. How many have we lost? 12.

The improvements week on week are there for all to see, the points will be coming soon. No reason we can’t beat Wolves on Saturday.

In hindsight with lots of new players using the first three (at least) of the season as preseason to learn about the players could have been avoided by playing 3 better teams in the actual preparation.
Instead of Championship clubs and no name GERMANS.

Has put us under pressure again where we are playing catch up.
Until Lanzini comes back we appear dependent on Anderson for creativity and entirely on Arnie to run our forward line and provide any goal threat.
With a soft defence we still look vulnerable and fragile.

My concern would be that an improved performance (not result) does NOT guarantee that being taken into the next game, whose to say we won't revert to a Bournemouth type of performance against Wolves?

Zero points from 9 available and 9 conceded is not good at all no matter how upbeat one tries to be. We have also led twice in the 3 games. Lose to Wolves and we could be in massive trouble.

Same shit.

Re: ⚽ Arsenal v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 3-1
Looking back I think we played a very decent game until Arnie went off.

We all know Masuaku isn't a defender, and it shows.
We really need to address that area.

Our poor new CD's Balbuena and Diop is our best ones, so we have to give them time and cover from midfield.

Midfield is still our achilles heel. Wilshire looks slow and wank but hopefully he will wake up. Sanchez is a big upgrade on Noble and Kouyate. Anderson is a quality player but need plenty more beef to meet the pl standard. Antonio is a weird one, causes trouble 1v1 every time but is blind as a bat.

Upfront we are pretty ok and is is pleasing to see how attack minded we are in possession. It's the repossession we struggle with.

Hard times ahead, but I'll stick by the project. They really need us now!

Tough start, Liverpool and Arsenal away are notorious places we take it hard, without KY jelly.

The Bournemouth home result is different, it’s a follow on from last season, Pellegrini had a point that the nervousness carried over from last season... there’s something, if not but a little in it.

Our poor defending definitely carried on from last season, and although we did have a lot of the ball, we never look like we’re going to score, it’s a surprising to us, as it is to the opposition when we actually do, and when we do, we don’t go for the jugular trying for the second goal..we just let the opposition have the ball.

It’s a bad start, and that’s the worst Arsenal side since Rioch was manager, they were there for the taking, and we ended up taking it analy, almost gifting them their first win.

It’s got to ne addressed asap, or even the die hards will have it in for Pellegrini.

So many relegation sides perform as we did yesterday. Put in a valiant fight and remain in the game for 60-70 minutes, then fall apart at the end.

Desperately need an easy game or two under our belts.

Happy to be corrected but can’t recall Antonio ever passing a ball to another player for them to score.
How many assists does he have in his West Ham career?

Re: ⚽ Arsenal v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 3-1
I'd expect Arnie to be greedy, the best strikers are, and you'd be questioning a striker who's first instinct is to pass. Plus he's been in red hot form for a good while now.

Antonio is NOT a striker, he's instinct should be to provide first, and he has been in shit form for a good while now. He is a brainless, greedy cunt.
